UFO The Hoax

ccf12012010_00000.jpgSeriously what is real anymore? Friends, lovers, your employer, your government? Well there is one thing you can count on as real, a belief in UFOs. Since the beginning of time humans have looked to the skies for the answers. Shiny spinning objects in the sky has been a preoccupation with anybody who has a high IQ, is high or has too much time on their hands. This episode of UFO finds a group of geeks in a small rural mountain town with nothing to do. Somewhere in time in the decade known as the 1970’s there was a small town called Lanesville, and a group of hippies at a local public access TV station spoofed trying to find extraterrestrials. This close encounter of the slackers kind finds the Lanesville crew jokingly investigating a UFO sighting and they get the whole community to play along. Yes it is a very low budget spoof, yes the acting is bad, but this was guerilla broadcasting to about 100 households in the early 1970s when videtape was 3/4″ wide on reels. What do you want? It’s internet programing before there was an internet. Maybe they know more than us. Maybe they were assisted by interplanetary beings to bring us a message. First Stoneheng, The Egyptian Pyramids and now Lanesville. Pay no attention to the poorly executed special effects, it was the 70’s. Pay no attention to the repeated use of the word, freak, it was the 70’s. The reporters seems stoned but no worrries it was the 70’s.Don’t hate just relate. WATCH Tomorrow Pictures.TV

Duty, Honor, Patriotism: A Soldier’s Story

Soldier StoryDuty, Honor, Patriotism. All great reasons to be a soldier, but usually not what a person thinks about when joining up. For most young people, the ideas swirling around enlistment in the armed forces involve career training, escape from a small town or inner city, and even possibly the chance to live out the video game experience in real combat. Such esoteric concepts as Pride and Duty are for older soldiers looking back fondly on the fire and zeal of youth. For the 22 year old grunt in the field, finding a place to sleep and avoiding RPGs are more immediate concerns.  With Memorial Day close upon us, TomorrowPictures.TV is proud to present an original series called A Soldier’s Story. This is real talk with real soldiers, with footage taken by them from the battle zone.  In the first episode, Army Sgt. Kenyon Johnson and his wife Amy talk about the reasons a young man joins the military, and the effort it takes a new family to survive the strain of active service. Join TomorrowPictures.TV in saluting the brave men and women who defend our liberties with their lives.  Watch Part Two on Episodics!

Watch out for the Dune Roller on Tales of Tomorrow!

Tales of TomorrowDune Roller, an episode of the 50’s Sci-Fi series Tales of Tomorrow(Pictures), is based on the short story of the same title by Julian May. The story dealt with a spherical alien creature that lived on the bottom of Lake Michigan. It occasionally rolled out of the water at night to roll about the sand dunes, attacking and devouring the unlucky people or animals it encountered, inspiring vague local legends of a “dune roller” dismissed by “sensible” people as “just folklore.” But we know better, don’t we..? This Cheesetastic television version features frequent Western and War movie veteran Bruce Cabot as the hero, Sam Thomas, and Nancy Coleman as the damsel in distress!
