Rachel Uchitel has given Tiger Woods back most of the settlement money he paid her … and now Rachel is preparing to sue Gloria Allred, the lawyer who struck the deal, allegedly because Gloria sold her out for money. Gloria negotiated a $10 million settlement for Rachel just hours before Rachel was going to hold a tell-all news conference about Tiger Woods. The settlement included a confidentiality agreement, which prohibited Rachel from talking about Tiger.
The agreement stated if Rachel violated the confidentiality clause, she would not only have to return the money she received but Tiger could sue her for damages as well. Several months ago Tiger’s lawyer, Jay Lavely, contacted Gloria and said they were going after Rachel because they believed she violated the confidentiality agreement by allegedly speaking with TMZ and going on “Celebrity Rehab” to treat her “addiction to love” though she never talked specifically about Tiger on the show. There were numerous reports Rachel settled on the brink of holding a Gloria Allred-style news conference for anywhere between $2 – 5 million. Tiger was so concerned with the depth and detail of information from alleged Mistress #1 that they offered the huge $10 million sum in return for an ironclad confidentiality agreement. The actual settlement could fluctuate $1 million either way, depending on future circumstances. But the baseline is $10 mil. Several mistresses got several hundred thousand dollars, and others got nothing. That speaks volumes about how much Rachel knows. Rachel’s settlement could be a precursor to what Elin Nordegren could get if she pulls the plug on her marriage to Tiger. Reports that Elin could get $300 million under the prenup are absurd. It’s more likely the prenup is in the $5 – 10 million range, with provisions for support. But insiders tell us with the backdrop of Rachel’s settlement — there’s no way Tiger would get off cheaper than $20 million.
Rachel Uchitel (born January 29, 1975) is an American nightclub manager, hostess and TV correspondent. She first encountered publicity when, following the September 11, 2001, attacks, a photo of her holding a picture of her fiancé, who worked in the World Trade Center, was published by the New York Post and circulated worldwide. She made headlines again in 2010 as one of golfer Tiger Woods’ mistresses as well as for an affair with actor David Boreanaz. Uchitel is the granddaughter of Maurice Uchitel, who was a restaurant and nightclub owner in the 1950s and 1960s, including the El Morocco club. When Uchitel was 15, her father died, reportedly from an overdose of cocaine, which according to her, required her to mature quickly, and which she claims was one of the incidents in her life that led to her own addictions later. She graduated from Millbrook School in 1992 and from the University of New Hampshire in 1996 with a degree in psychology. She spent five years after college as a news producer in New York for Bloomberg Television. Uchitel had been engaged to James Andrew O’Grady, an investment banker, who was killed in the September 11 attacks of the World Trade Center. A few days later, she appeared on the front page of the New York Post holding a picture of O’Grady, which was republished worldwide. Uchitel and her fiance’s family subsequently debated the disposition of his estate. In 2004, Uchitel married Wall Street trader and childhood friend Steven Ehrenkranz. Their marriage lasted four months. Uchitel managed the VIP section of “some of the most successful clubs in New York”, and was a special correspondent on nightlife for Extra. In 2005–6, she was the VIP hostess at Tao in Las Vegas. In 2005, Uchitel moved to Las Vegas and became a host at the Tao Nightclub which is operated by Jason Strauss. As of 2009, she still lived in Las Vegas but was “too old for being a VIP host anymore”. In a November 2010 interview with UK’s Daily Mail, Rachel announced she had applied for a license as a private detective. In May 2010 it was reported that Uchitel would pose for Playboy magazine, though no information has yet been released on when the photo shoot will be published.
