General Motors, which today unveiled a sweetened deal to shed billions in debt, plans to file for bankruptcy reorganization Monday. The Obama administration today offered General Motors creditors carrying $27.2 billion of the company’s bonds up to 25% of a reworked GM if they vowed not to oppose its bankruptcy — a deal that officials said had the backing of at least one-third of the bondholders.

In 2002, a Canadian citizen named Omar Khadr was arrested and sent to the prison at Guantanamo Bay. He has been there since, being questioned and kept imprisoned for the charge of murder. Khadr is accused of throwing a hand grenade that allegedly killed an American medic and wounded many soldiers in Afghanistan. Donald Trump, owner of the Miss USA pageant and noted Lothario, announced Tuesday that he didn’t object to topless photos of first runner-up Carrie Prejean that recently surfaced online. Prejean charged that some of the photos are fake, and denounced pageant judge and celebrity blogger Perez Hilton for what she called a “self-promoting and hateful” campaign against her.
