Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss has won the hard fought Georgia Senate run-off.The election had the attention of the nation because the result would have given the Democrats control of the Senate, when they already have a majority in Congress. And of course Republicans had been concerned about this race because in just over a month there will be a Democratic administration. This was reflected in the campaign ads in which the Republicans sought to convey fears of what a Jim Martin victory would mean to Georgians and ordinary Americans.
Mr. Martin, a former Georgia law maker, had based his campaign on the theme of change, carrying on from President-elect Barack Obama’s winning strategy. Both Chambliss and Martin had the support of high level colleagues including Governor Sarah Palin, Rep. Mitt Romney, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and Dem Congressman Hank Johnson.
Sarah Palin went back on the campaign podium in Georgia on Sunday and Monday for Chambliss. Jim Martin also held rallies and picking up where Obama left, he sought to attract the young voters. On the night of December 2nd, It was announced that Sen. Chambliss won with 58 percent of the votes.
Tomorrow Pictures attended a rally for Martin where he was joined on stage by Atlanta rappers Young Jeezy and Ludacris.
