In Part 2 of this 1994 episode of Lifestories: Families in Crisis, a baby-faced Ben Affleck plays Aaron Henry, an undersized high school athlete who turns to better living through chemistry in an effort to become all-State Nose Tackle. He gets bigger, stronger and faster, but also becomes an incandescent ball of ‘Roid Rage, taking his stress out on his mother and girlfriend, before eventually suffering a heart attack! Steroids have become a hot-button issue in modern sports, with Alex Rodriguez, Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens in disgrace and the seemingly monthly deaths of professional wrestlers. While we hear about the abuse of performance enhancing drugs in professional sports, they are perhaps most damaging among young athletes who juice up still developing bodies.
