What better way to welcome all the people of the world to China than Jackie Chan singing, “Beijing welcomes you”? I can’t think of one. Everything needs a musical score– including the Olympics!
According to www.mahalo.com, China conducted a nationwide search and selected around 30 songs to be the official music for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Over 50,000 songs were submitted for consideration and the 30 best were picked– each one for a different purpose and each will be made into a music video.
“Welcome to Beijing” is one of the 30 songs chosen and the video stars 100 celebrities of China! The song was selected to be the official song of the 100-day countdown to the games, so in this version (which also has English subtitles) watch the music video “countdown” to video clips of the opening ceremony of the 2008 Summer Olympics on KILLMTV!
