In light of Michael Vick’s recent bankruptcy filing while serving 23 months in prison for his part in a dog fighting ring, tomorrowpictures.TV correspondent Greg Clarkson hit the streets of Atlanta to take the pulse of the people regarding Michael Vick’s legal trouble and the “sport” of dog fighting!
Michael Vick, once one of the biggest stars in the National Football League, was sentenced to 23 months in the federal penitentiary at Leavenworth, KS for financing a dogfighting ring and executing pit bulls that did not fight aggressively. Supporters, including baseball Hall of Famer Hank Aaron, Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin and the pastor of Vick’s church sent letters in support of Vick, while others called the judge’s chambers. Vick, 27, had faced a maximum of five years in prison. Federal sentencing guidelines recommended a sentence of 12 to 18 months.
I, as well, have a pit-bull who will be the most supporting animal I’ve ever owned. Soon, a fresh dog breed will arrive together to the media to blast, as they have done rotties and dobies in earlier years. Unfortunate that media sensationalism breeds so much inaccurate details.
Any person who intentionally harms/mutilates/tortures/murders an entity that cannot defend itself or make its own decisions is the epitome of a coward. No punishment is sufficient enough for Vick’s actions. I feel bad for his karma.
