Duty, Honor, Patriotism. All great reasons to be a soldier, but usually not what a person thinks about when joining up. For most young people, the ideas swirling around enlistment in the armed forces involve career training, escape from a small town or inner city, and even possibly the chance to live out the video game experience
in real combat. Such esoteric concepts as Pride and Duty are for older soldiers looking back fondly on the fire and zeal of youth. For the 22 year old grunt in the field, finding a place to sleep and avoiding RPGs are more immediate concerns. With Memorial Day close upon us, tomorrowpictures.TV is proud to present an original series called A Soldier’s Story. This is real talk with real soldiers, with footage taken by them from the battle zone. In the Second episode, Army Capt. Shane Schmutz, a Blackhawk helicopter pilot who has served three tours of duty in Iraq, speaks about having a family military tradition and describes the conditions a young soldier faces in desert combat situations. Join tomorrowpictures.TV in saluting the brave men and women who defend our liberties with their lives. Watch Part Three on Episodics!
