Diddy owes Craig Mack big time! Mack basically put Puff Daddy’s Bad Boy records on the map with a remix of his 1994 hit “Flava in Ya Ear.” Impressed with Mack’s work on a Mary J. Blige remix, Diddy offered him a contract on his fledgling record label. When the remix of the top single “Flava in Ya Ear” went Platinum, suddenly everybody was rolling in the Benjamins! Featuring a cavalcade of East Coast talent: the Notorious B.I.G., Rampage, LL Cool J, and Busta Rhymes, it was one of the first posse tracks to go aboveground large: “Flava in Ya Ear” was a Top Ten pop hit, and number one on the rap and dance charts.
