Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: J.K. Rowling has Made History!

Harry PotterIn a global generation of war, famine and no music videos on MTV an era has come to an end. For many, Harry Potter is a part of culture and their lives. 100 years ago it was Charles Dickens setting the tone for the transition of childhood into adolesence. Now it is J.K. Rowling in the new milenium.

Not bad for a story about a “scrawny, black-haired, bespectacled boy” which, according to Rowling, came almost fully formed on a 1990 train ride from Manchester to London. She spent four hours musing on the character and started writing “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” (later retitled “Sorcerer’s Stone” in the United States) that night.

With the type of following Rowling gets with her books it would be no suprise for her to out distance even Hillary Clinton in name brand recognition. Do people tattoo Madame Clinton’s name on their arm? I think not.

Rowling is a billionaire author and the richest woman in Great Britain. How about that for a woman who found strength in the death of her mother. No one is greater in the modern era at utilizing fantasy to address and combat social issues.

From book to movie to Playstation Game. Harry and Rowling have it all.

Rowling has been quoted as saying she is sorry for it all to come to an end. This is coming from an author who wrote the ending to the series years ago and is only now offering us the right to peer into the close of a legend. Genius has no linear timeline and the Harry Potter series is timeless.

Case in point Tomorrow Pictures.TV is proud to present a Nationally Archived video that celebrates the influence of a writer whose fantastic storytelling and life affirming narrative we will not see again for 100 years.

Boys Beware: Classic Mental Hygiene Training Films on Comedy!

Boys BewareThis Classic 1961 Mental Hygiene film, produced by Sid Davis and the Inglewood, CA Police Department, is a sublimely ridiculous “expose” of the predatory homosexual pedophile. Done in the style of a “C” movie Reefer Madness, this film presents case studies of innocent young high school boys seduced into the fast lane of homosexual perversity with cokes, fishing, miniature golf and pornographic playing cards! If nothing else, you should watch this short film in order to learn about the dangers of overly friendly strangers in beach public restrooms!

Lobbying for Godly Entertainment: The Mission of Mastermedia!

mastermediaA 1985 study showed that of all the major decision-makers in American Media Industry, only 6% had any sort of religious affiliation. This figure spurred Larry Poland to create Mastermedia, a lobbying organization devoted to bringing “Good, clean, wholesome family entertainment” to the world media market. In this interview, Bryan Hickox, VP of Mastermedia, speaks of the need of the media industry to produce content that is uplifting, not denigrating to the human spirit! Hickox presents the statistic that ‘G’ rated films are 11x more profitable than ‘R’ rated films, and uses the recent comedy hit “Evan Almighty” as an example of films that resonate with a religious population in search of entertainment.
