I think that the HBO show “Entourage,” is such a great portrayal of life here in Hollywood because it has tapped into two things – everyone wants to be famous and everyone wants to be around famous people. Fame is extraordinary but famous people do occasionally lead ordinary lives. It’s not uncommon to be at Starbucks and see Adam Sandler, or be pumping gas at a Chevron next to Paris Hilton. Hollywood is where the stars live. Literally, they all have homes here and have a life off the silver screen.
If you spend enough time at the Hollywood clubs you will see someone like Jamie Foxx dancing his ass off on the floor surrounded by a million women who want to be his for the night. The draw of fame is so high that celebrities like Jessica Alba, Keira Knightley and Natatlie Portman all seem to have a crowd the size of a Yellowcard concert(they’re the next generation of pop-punk and the spokesmen for Verizon’s new “V CAST” phone) around them full of people who just want to bask in their reflective glow.
I don’t know if I could live my life with so many people knowing who I was and thinking that they know all about me. Someone meets Halle Berry once and they think that they are best friends forever and tells everyone that they know Halle Berry. If you can’t get into the Academy Awards to receive your Oscar, then the next best thing is to befriend someone who can like, Phillip Seymour Hoffman.
